Bitcoin on the fediverse

I just opened this community as I couldn’t find any good bitcoin place in the fediverse. This surprises me, as a decentralized communications platform seems like a natural ally for a decentralized currency.

The bitcointalk forum and /r/bitcoin are both pretty centralized. I’ll try to post interesting content I see, and hopefully more people will contribute.

These users are very biased and mentally Ill. Go to Nostr they have their version of voting categories too called communities. satellite.earth

PopularUsername,

I was also shocked to find no active Bitcoin sub on the fediverse for the same reason you mentioned. I literally thought the fediverse was a crypo project for the longest time until very recently.

teri,

Didn’t follow Bitcoin anymore for many years. Isn’t it more or less centralized too by now?

Could you elaborate why you think so?

Just to give some ideas: sci-hub.wf/10.1109/snpd.2015.7176229

There’s one idea presented in that awfully outdated paper, and it’s not really a concern. When separate entities collaborate to work more efficiently that’s not centralization, it’s temporary and good for business.
