Pons_Aelius, in How to plant bell peppers from store bought peppers

It is pretty simple.

I have grown chillies and peppers in pots/bags for years.

If you want them to grow well, largish containers are the way to go. I use 25L grow bags (~7 US Gal) to grow them.

You can use the seeds from fruit or buy them if you are looking for speciality varieties.

Plant in seedling pots, seeds usually take between 1 and 3 weeks to sprout.

Replant when they have grown about 3 or 4 sets of leaves.

Yea, i made a stew type of thing and used the seeds from the bell peppers and regular peppers (not sure their name, they’re thin, green, and long). Planted them in small seedling pots and waiting now 😁

CherenkovBlue, in Advice for Mediterranean gardener. What/when should I plant?
@CherenkovBlue@iusearchlinux.fyi avatar

Basil, tomatoes and parsley are soft plants that are not going to tolerate temperatures below about 45 F (they will start wilting and yellowing). So you will want to get them started inside and then get them outside when it is reliably warm enough if you want to do anything during the winter. Young plants don’t do well being overly blasted with heat and sun though (another reason to start them inside). Tomatoes grow best in moderate temperatures like 60-85 F (apologies for the units!).
