Tunisian - a new rabbit hole?

I learned the basics in the 1970ies, but didn't do much with it. A pillow cover a few years ago was a bit of a fiasco, so again, I put it away.

But today I saw this (which I mistook for a KAL initially).

I now I want to try again - but with less splitty yarn than last time. And with much more attention to keep an even gauge.

I do not know what a CAL is, and it is not explained anywhere in the article.

@zaivala @FanCityKnits @crochet @fiberarts it usually means crochet along. KAL is knit along. A group of people crochet the same pattern over the same period of time.

    Yeah, that's the basic stitch that I learned back then.

    But a cursory search - there are a ton of different options, sind look so close to knitting is easy to understand, why it gets mixed up.

    Tunisian crochet in the round is what used here. Very curious, how that is done.
