Boum, Aomar, and Sarah Abrevaya Stein, eds. 2019. The Holocaust and North Africa. Stanford, California: Stanford University Press.

@histodons Was curious about this title, which I'm browsing through at the moment. It seems to be not using some of the most obvious sources I'm aware of in respect to the Jews of North Africa in general, but also in the context of the Holocaust.

I did find Prof. Haim Saadoun [חיים סעדון], Michel Abitbol [מיכאל אבטבול] and others in the bibliography, but they seem to be very minimally referenced. From Sadoun could only find “Élaboration de la mémoire historique concernant l’époque de l’occupation allemande en Tunisie: nouvelle lecture de La Statue de sel d’Albert Memmi.”

It is worth mentioning that Saadoun is the founder and head of the "Documentation Center of North-African Jewry during WW2" https://northafricanjews-ww2.org.il/en
