Reddit always suffered from multiple of the same subs, or it was hard to track down regional subs. a regional sub naming convention might help alleviate this issue. instead of just toronto make it torontocanada [place:country] for example?
Hi, I just realized that my previous attempts to join the fediverse via Mastodon or Lemmy where just blocked by my choice on the mail provider. I never got any confirmation mail neither in the inbox nor in spam, tested with multiple servers, mask addresses. Just right now tried it with my Gmail account and got the mail...
I have a server I can use for hosting “stuff”. I want to add containers to host and help with the fediverse load balancing. Lemmy is a pain so if anyone has a simple docker yaml, could you share? And pixelfed is really cool so anyone know how to dockerize it and share it’s yaml? Cheers friends!
So I’m using mlem and wefwef apps. Issues with my comments and posts being posted. Also mlem app seems to have issues with photos both non nsfw and nsfw. Anyone else?

It would be nice to see a feature or some kind of extension to redirect Lemmy links from other instances to yours so you can interact with them. Because you need an accound to interact and it's on another instance....
I am interested in the power and scope of federated Lemmy instances (and the Fediverse more generally). Is it possible to host an instance which automatically translates all posts of connected instances into a target language?...
Is archive.org OK to store millions??? of images/media from Fediverse? I have now seen images especially from !aww, !memes and more. They(images) are coming exponentially, as more users are coming. Maybe, Fediverse (or Lemmy.world) users are just laying stuff like pics—without consideration to archive.org storage capacity(I'm...
So, somehow I got lost in the internet woods and came across birdsiteLIVE - which is basically a bot that makes twitter accounts viewable on the fediverse with activitypub(it's one way unfortunately, so twitter accounts won't see any replies or anything like that)....
