This comes to us courtesy of @misnina. As a technical person I sometimes find it difficult to communicate with my friends about the value proposition of Lemmy and other federated platforms....
Help me out here. Like a lot of ex-redditors, I made my way to the fediverse to find a whole new world of social media. Is it confusing at first? Yes. It takes a moment to adjust and learn the difference between an instance and a server and all that. But the one thing that confuses all hell out of me is @name. Not because it...
I am pretty new to the fediverse, but have been sort of aware about its presence since elon took over twitter. I am having some trouble figuring out how to use other parts of the fediverse. For example, I came across a link to a post from beehaw, but was unable to comment on it. How do I do that?...
Are there any guaranteed securities and tools against malbots (probably now equipping with AI) registering at every Fediverse (or at least lemmy.world) to prevent bot accounts influencing communities' nature to contents?
My apologies for the probably stupid question, I’m still trying to get a grip on the interoperability between services in the Fediverse. I have both a kbin and a Lemmy account, still checking which fits me the best. If I’m on one of them, can I follow a magazine when being on Lemmy, or the opposite?...
So, somehow I got lost in the internet woods and came across birdsiteLIVE - which is basically a bot that makes twitter accounts viewable on the fediverse with activitypub(it's one way unfortunately, so twitter accounts won't see any replies or anything like that)....
Calckey is a federated microblogging platform. More specifically it's a fork of misskey which itself is an alternative of Mastodon....
For example, on lemmy.world you can go to lemmy.world/instances and see a list of all instances that have been block by (defederated - I assume it's the same thing?) lemmy.world. Is there a way to see the opposite, i.e. see a list of all instances that have blocked lemmy.world?
Disclaimer: I'm no IT expert/man. I'm just wondering what structure these instances should be....
So, I noticed something interesting while writing and testing a script....
Hi! I'm dropping by from another corner of the #Fediverse to say hello & welcome to everyone in the #RedditMigration....
Bring your photos and videos from Instagram to Pixelfed, with captions and upload dates preserved.
This page on my personal site is a curated list of information about Mastodon and the Fediverse. There's a form at the bottom to submit other (not-yet-listed items).

First off if there is a better place for this question please let me know....
This server isn't the only one I'm running in the Fediverse :-) I'm currently running these:...
Trying out Lemmy. It seems to work, e-mail and federation fixed now
Do any of the android lemmy clients or front ends support auto-save drafts? Or have on roadmap?...
I'm interested in learning about the Fediverse! I wanted to know how these protocols and stuff works. I also want to learn about how to develop these amazing stuff.
I wondered if we would ever overcome the boundaries of centralized gaming platforms. I know there was a concept in the analog 80s—there were a lot of so-called play-by-mail games—that the game mechanics could be perfectly transformed into ActivityPub/Fediverse. The possibilities for federating games are endless, and it could...
MAHATMA GANDHI Part I
I heard it will be on the Fediverse. Is it true? I heard it had 30 millions users registered on the first day. Wtf. The whole Fediverse doesn’t even have 10 millions users. I heard it will not be available in Europe, yet. I visited www.threads.net and I don’t know if it’ll be the Threads instance to the Fediverse....
From what I understand, Threads will be joining the fediverse, and Bluesky is going to be federated. Will I eventually be able to access both from my Lemmy instance? I’m also still trying to wrap my head around the whole concept so I’m not even sure if I’m asking my question correctly
