ohwhatfollyisman, in Let me clarify: I want to see "lemmy" in the URL bar if I search it and can copy it instead of https://www.google.com/search?q=lemmy

sorry, it wasn’t wholly clear from the first four times this topic was posted within the span of two minutes.

you want me_irl to focus on a bar when you command an L? + if my query is accurate.

On Linux, Firefox now defaults to the Wayland compositor when available instead of XWayland.

It’s in! I know some people in the Lemmy Linux communities have been eagerly anticipating this change.

If only H265 wasn’t stupid like HDMI and have to pay a liscence fee…

half_built_pyramids, in Shouldn't browsers protect what users write from being seen by the website (like customer support chats) before hitting send? Would it be difficult to implement?

Popups are a specific part of html that can have permissions built around it.

Text entered into a field is kind of broad. I’m not sure how to wrap that in a permission when the website can build that input however they want. There might be something to stop like live streaming or whatever telemetry is being called to capture the text, but that might break functionally.

It's never been a better time to ditch Chrome, Brave & Edge.

HappyMeatbag, (edited ) in I'm looking for an Add-on Manager. I have way too many addons. I enable many of them for development, disable them afterwards. I can't search Installed Addons. What do?

Non-answer, sorry, OP

On reddit there was a sub called uselessredcircle for images that had an unnecessary circle around the object being talked about. This image makes me wish for a community called hilariousredarrow. I love the “this is useless” comment.

Not tools personally, but multiple browsers. Firefox Developer Edition exists and uses its own profile, with its own set of add-ons. So I do my developing in that, and everything else in the normal version of Firefox that can be installed simultaneously just fine.

You could also just use Firefox profiles to do this.

@guy Nice. I didn't know this exists. Will definitely give it a try.

As I mentioned in another profiles suggestion, I'll consider it, but it's regretful if this is the only option because I use history/bookmarks/cache heavily and it's simply crippling to lose access to them just cuz firefox doesn't allow Ctrl+F/Scripting for bulk addon management.

You could use multiple profiles with Firefox Sync logged into the same account inside each profile, but turn off addon syncing?
