fupuyifi, Hopefully with the ground effect cars, they’ll be able to reduce the overall size. Tighter courses like Monaco is ridiculous with the current car sizes
Chog, Yes please! Also narrower/shorter if possible, they’re ginormous now and they look ridiculously out of place in street circuits. Since FIA/FOM have been pushing for more street circuits in the calendar for the past few seasons, they better find a solution for how terrible overtaking is on most street circuits. Making the cars smaller and lighter should help in this regard.
f0kus, I honestly feel like with the safety precautions and aerodynamics it'll be tough to shrink the cars. I think the direction F1 needs to go is introducing drivable tracks, meaning less street circuits and more real tracks.
Acetamide, I have the feeling FOM is aiming for the opposite though. All the street circuits bring a certain flair with them, even though the race itself isn't great. The former is what they're actually looking for.
BobKerman3999, Yes: they're looking for clout, not for racing. It's becoming a cheap show more and more. I fully expect they'll go full WWE very soon.
It could be a show, done tastefully. But not from an administration that is pushing a LasVegas street race as the "iconic premier event of the season".
