Why have Wheel of Fortune contestants been so stupid this season?

They have been making so many more dumb mistakes, like calling letters when they’re not supposed to, picking up Wild Cards before calling letters, calling letters that were already called, et cetera. Is that the decision of the editors to make it more viral of a season?
