huquad,

My buddy had this game, shit had like 8 discs

Omegamanthethird,

It was 3. But IIRC, it was the first 360 game to have multiple discs.

huquad,

Yeah you’re right; looking it up it was 3. My kid brain at the time must have seen that and the tale of the multiple disks grew.

thingsiplay,

I never considered Blue Dragon as a spiritual successor to Chrono Trigger. Blue Dragon is just a complete different game, with some of the same developers.

ninjan,

It is a great game imo, but it’s also insanely long and pretty grind heavy. I made it through two of the three disc before I sadly lost my save file in a break in.

I later tried again but only made it to disc 2 before just not being able to stomach the grind :/

I played the shit outta this when I was a kid. Yeah, it can be pretty grind heavy, but barrier magic actually allows you to automatically defeat enemies if they're weaker than you (it uses MP per battle tho) so it wasn't difficult to grind. Also, the boss music slaps. Still remember Ian Gillian thanks to that.

Sorry to hear about the lost save file, but if you ever get the urge to go back and revisit it, try having one character spec into barrier magic.
