A nice little update on my PinePhone
Welp, good news. This stupid annoying pos (not really annoying or a pos, but it took a bit) phone is finally up and running after way too much distro hopping and testing apps....

Today we’re ecstatic to publish our first demo showing a homemade BusKill Cable (in the prototype 3D-printed case) triggering a lockscreen....
I’ve been working on and off on several of my tools and toys, specifically my raspberry pis that I bought long ago. I’m at a bit of a gripe now for buying the boards from Raspberry Pi Foundation, mostly because I do not like the direction the company is going, but I still have three of the boards lying around before...
Ok. Usually I’m a bit (a lot actually) critical of hak5 products, but this one has piqued my interest enough that I’ve decided to pay attention to it more. It would be very useful since it is supposed to take advantage of open, unattended, exposed eth ports which you find everywhere in a building. Did look at the payloads...
Now that I had this device for a while, I can probably make a better informal post. The keyboard is easier to use now that I’ve had time to get used to it. Still wish the keys had more depth. There is some minor weird breaks at the hinges which I think is from opening and closing. Since it is plastic, it cracked more easily,...
Found this interesting project: github.com/G4lile0/ESP32-WiFi-Hash-Monster...
The Wi-Fi dev board doesn’t come with a sd card slot installed, but there are a few addons. SD card and one that also includes GPS....
Found this while I was exploring the internet for some interesting things to do with the flipper and just taking in all I can find: www.ifoedit.com/garagehack.html...

I normally don’t try to post stuff like this, but this one is urgent. There is a rogue developer who has inserted malicious code into XZ and I’m urging everyone to check their systems and update accordingly. Arch Linux is not affected. Debian stable isn’t either as far as everyone is aware, but check your xz version. You...
Only had this lovely toy for about 24 hours and I’m already pretty blown away. Set it up with Xtreme firmware and with a bit of looking around online, managed to get marauder to work....
My Gemini just came in last week, and I’ve had some time with it. I have to say, I’m very impressed and after a bit of fiddling I do like it a lot. I’m currently running a rooted android with the updated magisk patched boot img which I had to patch myself and replace the root_boot.img in the gemini rooted image provided by...
While I wait for my new toys to come in… I’ve decided to take a break from my OSINT projects and mess with hardware again. This time is with my OpenWRT routers again. I wanted to find a nicer alternative to using LuCi for an idea and I managed to find this: www.gargoyle-router.com/index.php...
Been debating a bit about buying the flipper zero, since it is an all-in-one device that I think would be perfect for someone like me. Of course the input on Reddit and under the YouTube comments are a bit off-putting, but since I’m a hardware nerd and the device is a toy that is made for hardware nerds such as myself with...
On my next idea for hak5’s product dissecting, I’ve been really annoyed lately with the over glorified and overpriced usb rubber ducky when after a bit of searching through way too many search results, I read somewhere that at the heart of the USB Rubber Ducky was a Leonard Keyboard Arduino board, but with the new variant it...
As the title says, I’ve been keeping my brain a bit busy by various hardware ideas that I’ve come up with. One of them is dissecting and taking apart hak5’s products that they sell, since I think I could build my own that is cheaper and much better. I was thinking I could build my own bash bunny and after asking around a...
I left the cover off a tower PC and walked away while it installed linux (yes, bad idea). The cover had the cpu fan mounted on it but the CPU also had a fan strapped on it. I don’t know if the CPU-mounted fan was running or if the machine was entirely dependent on the cover-mounted fan directly above the cpu....
I saw a PCMCIA IDE card at a flee market without the cable. That stopped me buying it because it’s unclear if I would be able to find the cable it needs. Obviously the drive end of the cable would be the 50-pin standard but what about the tiny connector that attaches to the PCMCIA card?
I do apologize for my lack of posting hardware stuff lately. I’ve been busy focusing on my other projects which are unfortunately not hardware related, but demand my attention more. I also lost my job so I can’t buy new hardware toys at the moment, but hoping once I get back on track a bit more to post more content that is...
Yes yes not hardware porn, but stuff like this is just as important as shitposting some hardware that makes some of us high on dopamine....
I bought an OptiPlex 7040 refurbished off of Amazon and running Endeavour OS. Beautiful machine. I bought it cuz I got tired of using laptops and a desktop like this to work on at my desk has been so much better.
My notes on an openwrt implant idea: github.com/f0rg-02/Notes/…/openwrt_implant.md...
I do apologize if I don’t fully understand everything including terminology, but I’ve realized I probably should try to set up some sort of NAS and the hardware I would like eventually is going to cost me around 300$~ not including the proper harddrives. At the moment I cannot really buy everything I need, but I do have an...
This is probably one of the coolest early electronic bugs. A video on how it works: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLDpWrwijE8
Reuters was first to report U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo discussed concerns about restrictions on chipmakers Intel and Micron with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao in Beijing on Monday. The pair also discussed China’s restrictions on gallium and germanium exports in the conversation. Shares of Micron rose 3% and...
