A bit of an update on my RPi builds

I’ve been working on and off on several of my tools and toys, specifically my raspberry pis that I bought long ago. I’m at a bit of a gripe now for buying the boards from Raspberry Pi Foundation, mostly because I do not like the direction the company is going, but I still have three of the boards lying around before everything went to shit.

My RPi3 B+ is running AdGuard Home on my homelab, and it is great. I don’t really need to do much with it.

My RPi0w runs bettercap and collects handshakes of the Wi-Fi networks when I’m out and about. Last I checked I had roughly 30+ and I do have to say that it works well. I realized before that limiting the channel to the big three channels produces the best results, and the reason for this is the other channels interfere with each other, which isn’t good. Also, the constant hopping made capturing handshakes somewhat unreliable. I configured it using the pwnagotchi documentation for manual install, which after a bit of tweaking works well. I’m planning on adding a lot more stuff to this one once I can since I plan on building it to be able to configure Evil Twins, run WPE Evil Twins (eaphammer mostly), collect pmkid, collect handshakes on 5G (different channels and I want to use separate Wi-Fi adapter for this). So basically I mostly need to buy Wi-Fi adapters and also a micro USB hub.

My RPi4 is configured for generic usage and just runs tcpdump with a few other scripts on boot. I’ve been debating about adding other tools such as dsniff and also some VoIP sniffers and/or SNMP, but not entirely sure if they’re needed. It is worth at least a test at some point. The case is also now aluminum which is great with handling the heat without needing a moving part (fan) which can break at any moment’s notice and isn’t ideal.

Mazoku,

Wow I’ve never heard of pwnagotchi. Looks fun, would you recommend building one?

It is an enjoyable project and is easy to get up and running. Haven’t tried installing it with an epaper display, but it is definitely interesting.
