Any other introverts ever drove for Uber/Lyft?

I did for a short time a few years ago. Driving has never been a problem for me. I drove my brother and myself to school a few counties away from home when we were in high school and I drove about 100 miles each day as part of one of my jobs, so I’ve been used to driving.

But what highlighted my introverted nature was the fact that I would be absolutely exhausted from picking up people because of the socialization. I think the monotony of the conversations made it most exhausting, always with the same questions: “how did you start doing this?”, “how long have you been doing this?”, “how’s your day been going?”, etc.

Not at all a dig to any passengers who ask these questions. Don’t feel you need to change because of my experience. I’m sure there are drivers out there who not only don’t mind but love these questions and the opportunity to talk with you. Being a passenger, myself, I met a lot of seemingly extroverted drivers who loved to converse.

But me, personally, I was exhausted after doing about 4-5 trips back to back and needed a break. It’s partly why I stopped doing it after only about 6 months.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
