Maaaaybe…

All joking aside, I’m probably the least lonely I’ve been in my whole life right now (husband, kid, dogs, friends, job that deals with people, etc.) But I’ve definitely been lonely before, and it sucked. Being alone, though? Fucking love it. Spent most of today alone, and I’m in heaven.

I hate the notion that being an introvert means to be shy.

You can be talkative, charming, and charismatic and be an introvert. It’s all how you recharge your social battery.

I consider myself to be an introvert, but I am not a shy person. At times I can be, but that has nothing to do with me being introverted, more like being insecure or anxious in that moment.

I love hanging with my friends, talking to new people, going to open mics or karaoke but when I do, I need time to myself, recharge, and be alone for a few days afterwards.

Introverts have outdoor asventures too. I go hiking solo a lot. Sometimes a fellow introverted friend will come with me. We hike for 10 hrs and say 8 words to each othe. Its great.

Best Sundays I ever had was going over to a friend’s house and reading the Sunday Hartford Courant and New York Times. Then maybe we would pop out for an early dinner or order take-out. We would swap sections, talk about what we read and just enjoy each other’s company.
