Can the mods please define liminal space in the community info?

I googled it and it defined it as a transitional space, but I don’t understand how some posts are transitional or at a boundary.

JickleMithers,

Agreed, this one for sure isn't liminal. There's way too much going on in this space.

Yeah, this is a good one. One of these places that isn’t necessarily scary, but it certainly makes you feel a certain way.

BestBouclettes,

It’s a brand new office building and everything is new and shiny. I think it really adds to it.

ArmoredThirteen, in Be careful.

This gives me ‘grandparents spare bedroom in the basement that everyone hates because it is clearly haunted’ vibes, the kind where the kids dare each other to see what’s behind the doors and one of them goes directly into the crawlspace but they still keep a full coatrack of clothing in there for no understandable reason

SidewaysHighways,

It looks like Grandpa’s theater they had installed after his son in law got his theater first, all to impress the grandkids and keep em wanting to come over.

The kids play games seeing who gets hurt coming out of the doors that are too close together

pastermil, in Desmond Hotel

Feels like there’s gonna be a maniac with an axe gonna walk thru

DavidGarcia, in Desmond Hotel

the lowered ceiling, fluorescent lights and water foundtain really finish the look of violating something beautiful for maximum margins

If it weren’t for the water fountain, this could look like an unexplored floor of the backrooms.

blahsay, in Going down?

Best liminal space pic I’ve seen - nice!

mindbleach, in Liminal room in my basement. Nicknamed the murder room/ritual chamber.

Your basement has a ground-floor window?

Aussiemandeus, in Going down?
@Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone avatar

Definitely down

Land_Strider,

Could be an asshole design with low-traction ramps instead of stairs, going up.

Aussiemandeus,
@Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone avatar

Nah if you zoom in, you can see a sign on the wall. If you were goinf up it would be a sign on the ceiling and that makes no sense

Land_Strider,

Ah, that detail probably clears it as going down.

wesker, in Going down?

What country is this?

infotainment,
@infotainment@lemmy.world avatar

Japan! It’s a stairway leading to the Toei Ōedo line, among the deepest subways into the world.

I had guessed Japan.
