Just broke my third Ducky Keyboard. Two of them died to a few drops of liquid, The third fell on wooden floor from a height of about 1m. While my cheap-o mechanical keyboard has bathed in coffee, been yanked off my desk multiple times by its cable getting pulled by my chairs armrest and survived without any damage.
Figured I should share my latest Helix build. I have enough boards to make 5 more of these but it still comes out to about $120 per keeb. Wireless is expensive. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I soldered it for for RGB lighting as well but haven't had a chance to test them yet since ZMK doesn't have proper RGB support....
My coiled cable likes to rotate which makes the coil messy. This little 3d print I made keeps it nice and tidy. Hope it helps anyone with similar issues. You can find the files here: https://www.printables.com/model/433584-coiled-cable-lockaligner
I overpaid for this… IBM Model M ashtray, for the lack of a better word. I looked at pictures of the internal assembly online, and I think there’re missing springs? For example, I can’t press the upper half of the enter key because there’s just no spring there, not even blue placeholders. I can’t exactly buy new...
I’m getting to the point where I need some storage other than plastic bags for my switches and caps. I’ve seen some fancy keycap storage like these and these, and some switch storage like these....
Yo guys I’m writing this because I’m new to the hobby and I’ve done a mistake on my current build! I’ve bought some ktt strawberry and they were factory lubed so I socked them in water dried them and then lubed, but now after months of the build they are giving me a lot of problems, so I’ve bought some C3 tangerine...
i have a few apple extended keyboard ii that are in good working shape. i have considered purchasing an adapter to use them with usb, because i can remember absolutely loving to use these keyboards....
Hi all, here’s my first ever mechanical board for work! Very excited to wave goodbye to the current horrendous membrane keyboard that sits in my office. I’m already planning to swap the linear Reds for a silent tactile, currently looking at the Durock Shrimps - given how much this already cost me, that will wait a bit…...
Made my gf a keyboard for her birthday and she’s enjoying it, but is missing light up indicator when caps lock is on. I know this key sucks and I disabled it on mine but she uses it a lot for her job....
Swapped out the stock Gateron Brown switches for MX2A Ergo Clear. Added o-rings to shorten the key travel to 2.5-3mm. The result feels dramatically different. Individual key presses feel amazing. I’m not sure about typing yet.
Anyone have any ideas? It feels really bad to get something other than the QK75 that I have and love, but I have wrist problems with my left wrist and I’d really like something more ergonomic for gaming and that I don’t have to reposition every time I switch between gaming and general computer use. I’m sure the Tartarus is...
