The soup I made for diner was very yum. Small dices of onion, carrot, celery, zucchini and corn kernels, fry with generous amount of middle eastern spice mix, bottle of passatta, can of beans and stock. Cook until veg are perfect tenderness and consume with garlic bread. It’s the small dices that make it nice to eat.
I miss sitcoms. The kind that are full of corny jokes and have 20 episodes a season. Seems that era of tv is dead, and it’s sad. Shows like Frasier, Seinfeld, Freinds, Big Bang theory etc. I guess with streaming being the main form of tv now it’s a different market.
I agree with you, I think the market has become so saturated with content that producers are either going with cringe reality shows, or period/crime drama for ratings, with not much in between.
I grew up in 70/80s UK and we had the likes of The Good Life, Fawlty Towers, Are You Being Served, Hi-de-Hi and countless others sitcoms. Sure, some of the content from those years wouldn’t pass the respect test these days, but they were part of life at the time.
Venting/whinging post warning: Mr Peeler ruined my favourite shot glasses. They were Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec inspired moulin rouge glasses I bought at the monet and friends exhibition at The Lume. I said repeatedly Don’t put them in the dishwasher. I even rescued them a few times when he was about to start a cycle and told him again. And what does he do… the design is all melted and ruined. Aargh! Dammit! End of rant.
He should, but I don’t think he can as I don’t think they sell them anymore and he’s on jobseeker. Oh well, I guess they’re only glasses. Other people have got much bigger problems and here I am whining about glasses!
I want to apologise to everyone here about having to put up and read about my side of things.
I know there are probably many others in tough positions and I’ve probably had too much a winge and complain today.
I should probably just focus on solving the problem and taking it in stride or waiting to solve the problem instead of being so down about all the worst aspects of it all and what it might mean.

It’s ok to post about your situation, you’re already ahead as you’ve realised that you need to take steps to fix it. It’d be worse if you didn’t do anything at all and just complaining. A step in the right direction. You got this
Don’t stress about the doom posting. We all need this space to vent also and people can understand we all have bad days and most of us are struggling with the rising costs of living.
That you’ve supported your partner whether it’s left you in a precarious position or not is something to be really proud of. No matter how tough things get, they know you’ll be there for them and that sounds like a good relationship.
Hey mate, it’s okay. Some might not like it, and that’s fine. But we are a wholesome, supportive community. Whether it’s supporting someone’s cooking endeavours, their adventures for grocery shopping, or when their washing machine shits itself in the middle of a wash.
We’re all guilty of complaining and doomposting here - no need to apologise. Some people have the good life here (i wish i was one of them ToT), but there is no comparing us. We’re all (mostly lol) Melbournians. You belong here, friend.
I finally got enough FlyBuys points to get another Bunnings gift card. That last 27c seemed to take an awfully long time. Once it arrives I can get more manure and mulch for the garden.
