An electric banana smoothie please.

A dickhead is a dickhead, no matter what gender they are/were/present as. Bad behaviour/manners should be called out. There’s far too much victim blaming happening. Not a situation I’ve ever faced, so please take that for what its worth, if anything.

Triceratopsian stew with onions please. Not fussy as to species. And coffee.

Thank you! A good start for a chilly Friday.

Sounds perfectly rational to me. Actually, a visit from you might be more welcome in about a month’s time when all the new has worn off and everyone else has stepped back a bit.

Go to your local Vinnes or Brotherhood or Salvos. Look in the kitchenware section for a 1/2 or 1/3 cup measuring scoop or spoon or cup. May cost you all of 20 cents. My local Vinnies has zillions of these that have become detached from their sets and are perfect for the purpose.

We are doomed, doomed I tell you

I’m glad I have gas hot water now.

Yesssss. Visible as far north as Sydney they say. Round about midnight tonight and tomorrow night will be at its most intense. Could well be visible on the beach or suchlike here in Melbourne. Might pop on over to the hill behind Northcote Plaza to see if it’s visible from there.

The triffids could be a problem. Would you like some of mine? I have a superfluity at present.

Thornburywitch,

Yes. I still have some of the tins around as they are the perfect size for storing button sets, small screws, tacks and the like. You opened the tin with a 5c piece, twisting up the lid at the corner. The lozenge wrappers were tinfoil, and once the tin was opened the lozenge would get sticky and the foil would stick to it like glue. I can’t recall how many times I could only half unwrap a strepsil and resorted to dissolving it out of its tinfoil in my mouth.

I like both, but if I had to give one up and stick to the other I’d pick tea.

This gentle pitter pat rain is perfect for the garden. Was looking a bit dry.

Chopped pears and kiwifruit in lemon jelly and a nice cup of tea please.

Thornburywitch,

Thanks. Feeling a bit green and yellow today so this suits perfectly.

I use them all the time. I don’t need them for periods anymore, but they’re fine under leggings with a longish top. They’re great for bike riding as extra padding is always welcome. Haven’t noticed any problems with thrush and just wash them with the regular wash. If I was using them for periods, I think I’d keep a salt water bucket to soak them in after use before washing. They could sit in that for a couple of days before the next wash. Napisan wouldn’t do the elastic any good, but salt water is fine and good for getting blood out. Drying them adequately is more of a problem. I like to get them out on the line for a while at least, then into the dryer.

Nope. And never were a rock band as such. They were called that, but they played blues/ska fusion.

The rubber perishes over time. Especially round the input plug. If your bottle is more than a year old, it’s probably that. If the inside of the bottle is sticky it’s certainly that and bottle should be replaced.

Well today was interesting in the Chinese sense. Took the day off work cos dentist appointment at midday. Then bike got a flat tyre on way to dentist. Took bike to bike hospital to be mended and consigned my soul to public transport. Nearly late for dentist. Then dentist said YOU NEED TWO MORE FILLINGS THAN I PLANNED FOR YOU! So had to wait around in Niddrie central after the appointment was re-scheduled for later on in the day. After all that, had to go pick up bike before getting home.
On the plus side, Niddrie shopping strip is actually pretty nice. Lots of food options (which I couldn’t take advantage of thankyou Mr Dentist) and some interesting clothes. I was particularly taken with a hot pink fitted faux fur vest in the window of one shop - teamed with a sleek black embroidered black on black shiny shirt underneath with leather look leggings and hot pink boots. Very Suzie Q. I sorta kinda wish I was 19 again, as at that age I’d wear that in a heartbeat. Also the last living Rivers store in captivity, and a pretty comprehensive range of specialty shops and wellness practitioners. Very few empty storefronts. They’ve widened the footpaths with one zillion caffs and there were lots of people out and about enjoying the sunshine. I’d actually make the trip there for clothes - not the faux fur though as I’m too long in the tooth now (dammit).

Best bacteria-cide and fungicide ever invented. And cheap as chips (about $1 a kilo) and non-allergenic. I use salt to disinfect my cloth bags for meat purchases and have never had a problem. I wasn’t kidding about salt water getting out blood stains.

If you’re looking for a Vietnam BBQ for $17 including drink - Niddrie is where to go. Couldn’t vouch for quality as mouth was numb but there’s a host of dining options - turkish, bulgarian, japanese, vietnamese, chinese, aussie, mediterranean, greek you name it.

Listen to the music. They’re primarily a blues band with a drummer. Some ska & Chuck Berry influences.
Try listening to Paint It Black, Angie, Ruby Tuesday - these are straight run blues with drums.

Ouch. Not fun in any suburb. My condolences.

Cooking salt is the pure salt. Table salt has iodine in it to stop us all getting big thyroid glands. Cooking salt is perfect for disinfecting.
