I would wager riding in sand would also significantly reduce the effective range. The damn stuff just eats any torque put into it. You’ll noticeably decrease fuel range even on an ICE bike if you spend all day running around in loose sand.
I really, really, really want battery technology to catch up to even half or so of the range possible on a fuel powered bike. I love all these electric motorcycle concepts but the range on all of them is way too short to be viable for anything other than oval track or dirt park playthings that you’ll put on the trailer behind your truck to take home at the end of the day.
