Music was a lot more expensive to license in the late 90s and early 200s. Not sure why, but the office ladies podcast talks about how expensive it was to license songs for the show, but how those prices have gone down considerably in recent years. They paid like $50k just to get “tiny dancer” for the Dundees episode
