imdb synopsis: When his new album fails to sell records, pop and rap superstar conner4real (Andy Samberg) goes into a major tailspin and watches his celebrity high life begin to collapse. He’ll try anything to bounce back, anything except reuniting with his old rap group The Style Boyz.
This movie deserves a lot more attention than it gets. As far as I’m concerned it’s right up there with This is Spinal Tap. Everyone’s on point. Even the smaller roles were perfectly cast. Like Chris Redd as Hunter the Hungry for example. Dude turned in a hilarious and damn near flawless parody of Odd Future era Tyler the Creator.
It is a shame, it flew right under most people’s radar when it came out! I know I missed it, I didn’t even hear about it until a few years after it came out. And that 6.7 rating is waaay too low, even for the imdb hivemind. It’s at least a 9 in my book.
