Chris Packham: Politicians' failure to save nature is a national embarrassment

The failure of politicians to save the UK’s natural world is a “national embarrassment” that has left Britain in a “last stand fight for life on earth”, TV presenter and environmental campaigner Chris Packham has said.

In a letter to i, the Springwatch presenter said politicians’ failures to address the decline in biodiversity “is bad for the quality of life of us all”.

“The lack of action for nature from UK politicians of all parties is a national embarrassment and is set to leave future generations paying the price,” he wrote.
