jdm2,

Still not fully grasping at the concept of the NBA in season tournament. But it feels far easier to understand FIBA’s window classification system in my opinion.

FIBA’s window system feels closer to the Oblivion gates opening in The Elder Scrolls than a proper basketball tournament.

@jdm2 so I think I kind of get the so called tournament itself. I read a little last night. What doesn't make sense to me yet is how the schedules balance out for the teams that don't make the final couple rounds of the actual tournament. But I guess that's what the open schedule spots are for. Bottom line, until December you can just treat em as regular season games and then figure out the rest once the actual little tournament starts.

I really did think the court colors were awful though

jdm2,

@mrcompletely haha. The Indy design feels like a middle finger to graphic designers everywhere.

@mrcompletely @jdm2 The way I like to think about it:

  • You play each team in your division 4 times (16 games)
  • 3 games against same conference, other division teams (30)
  • 2 games against teams in the other conference (30)

Adds up to 76, so there's still 6 more games to play! Usually they pick some of the other teams in the same conference to randomly play a fourth time. Here they're picking some of those extra 6 games based on the tournament results.

@boredtrevor @jdm2 that's the most sensible explanation I've seen. Thanks
