There are some R Little’s, but not in the Whanganui area (though they don’t necessarily live there).
I’ll point out that anyone can order anyone else’s birth certificate (with the requirement you have to identify yourself and be recorded as having ordered it), so you could start ordering birth certificates for the people you think are the ancestors that link you and try to prove the link that way.
