In US, it’s being published by Limited Run Games, which will have the cartridge.
It’s been announced that Limited Run Games will be publishing a physical edition of Contra: Operation Galuga in North America. The good news for collectors is that WayForward has confirmed to us that this version will indeed contain the full game on a cartridge.
How shitty. That’s such a scumbag thing to do… It’s great that it’s getting a Limited Run version at least, but it’s not ideal due to how long they take, shipping and potential import charges in different countries. It’s not like Konami is a small indie studio.
Yeah, even though I am not a collector myself, this act of shipping empty just feel very scummy to me. If you can’t sell cartridge, don’t sell physical box, just give a way for users to print “official” cover and put it on empty box themselves.
