Yea that part does seem super shady. Either way we are all better off here I think. Even if that part is not true(and I'm leaning towards it being true), it proves a point. Reddit(the company) has ultimate authority over all redditors, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Reddit is inclined to police their website in a way that promotes their own finantial interests and overprotects their company from real and perceived threats. It makes sense that they would at least have a more hardline attitude of their rules towards anyone who threatens their profit margin.
