Have I complained about what I consider a logical inconsistency with the myth of the Holly King and the Oak King on here yet?
Well, here it is anyway.
The myth usually goes that on the Winter Solstice the Holly King and the Oak King fight and the Oak King defeats the Holly King and rules until the Summer Solstice when they fight again and the Holly King takes over.
But Winter Solstice is when the Holly King is at the height of his power! It's the longest night of the year! They should fight on the equinoxes when the balance of light and dark actually shifts!

Anyway, have a blessed Yule. Hail to the Sun Child. Hail the return of the light.
@BluRae the idea of them fighting has never thought well with me I don't see them as individuals who would take up arms against each other to try and win the season. How often imagine that they're supposed fight it's just a game of chess or checkers or cards or maybe these days they play Uno. And I absolutely agree with you that it should be on the equinoxes not the solstice. But that's the beauty of being a modern witch we can change things to suit what we think it should be. We can adjust things to make it more relevant.
@BluRae I tried to listen to it but the way he speaks it's a canter I can't enjoy I found it monotone and just kind of boring because of that.. but I did try to listen to it.
@BluRae yes that's exactly it he doesn't let it breathe. If he put more emotion into what he was saying and stops to let it sink in it would feel genuine and intriguing. Stories are more than just words. He wasn't painting a picture, unfortunately.
