I like muffon for streaming. I select vk as my source which has all the weeb/jp/doujin music that I like. I also very often use youtube music (with revanced to give ad-free listening). There's really not a lot of good options out there for music if you listen to anything other than the most mainstream stuff.

Muffon is awesome, I just discovered it. I actually compared audio quality to Nuclear and Muffon always pulls tracks with higher bitrates and really you can even hear the difference. Recommended by me too!

AlicePraxis,

several people have mentioned soulseek and I agree but nicotine+ is better than the official soulseekQt client

clowntempo,

Thank you for posting this, I had been using the official client and nicotine already works so much better for me - I love that you can automatically run a command after a folder has been downloaded

520,

What is soulseek?

Phantom52347,

Soulseek, and the android app - Seeker

ASH3S,

If you have Android, Murglar is pretty good for downloading files, playlists, albums, etc from Deezer or SoundCloud

cheer,

My two main sources are Soulseek and newalbumreleases dot net

wasd4321,

Seal is a very good app to download audio from YouTube, you can get it on f-droid or GitHub

Zeroxxx,

Download your own MP3a or Flac and host it in your NAS wirh zerotier or tailscale.

NaoPb,

I currently use myfreemp3juices.cc

Tau,

Soulseek

rambos,

Its not actually pirating, but vimusic is free youtube music with no adds and it doesnt need account. Its amazing if you need it on phone only

Equinox,

Spotube, Harmony, Vibe Music, all on Github, all for Android.

    Getallen,

    Spotube has wierd quality issues

    Fais,

Yea I tried spotuve with KY spotify Account to see how it grabs my Playlist and it wouldn’t load. I’ll try the others!

    TheMadnessKing,

Deemix to DL all your music. And media servers like JellyFin/Emby/Plex to host the data. That’s the only way to get the best Music Exp.

    AllenSmithee,

This is what I do and supplement with redacted.

    neocamel,

I was thinking about setting up a jellyfin server that could be publicly accessible from a domain I own. Something like jellyfin.neocamel.com, which would point to my jellyfin server on my home windows PC, but it sounds like that opens up some pretty serious security concerns.

    TheMadnessKing,

I haven’t touched that aspect so can’t really comment on the security aspect. But if it’s behind PWD and stuff, it should be good IG.

    dutchkimble,

I think you can set up a cloudfare tunnel to alleviate security concerns and it seems like an easy setup

    ButtonMcLemming,

I just use 4K Video Downloader+ to download music from YouTube. The free version only allows you to download up to 30 videos/music tracks per day, but by buying a personal license or a pro license and activating the app with one of those licenses, then there is no download limit. Although it may not be recommended if you are an audiophile unless you don’t have any qualms with lossy audio.

    the_lone_wolf,

you don’t need to use paid tools to download videos or audios from youtube. Try yt-dlp

    Drm12,

    Blackhole ,y music

    Cannizzaro,

rentry.org/firehawk52 This is really good for downloading lossless music
