Not defending this idiot, but you’re categorically wrong. Spend some time in a war zone and you’ll realize all 3 of those terms take precedence over any of your feelings of support or dissent.
This is a weird way to respond to a comment about synonyms for “support”, especially when a quick glance at a thesaurus could have cleared up your misconception.
In linguistical terms they are not. You can protect something you don’t support. In real life its the same though and Trump’s defense attorneys are morons.
But does taking an oath have any legal weight, or is this another one of those norms and traditions that people just follow? If there’s no punishment for breaking the presidential oath, it doesn’t really matter whether he broke it or not.
In this case it should, because legally he should legally be not be eligible to be on the ballot. That is (at least part of) the legal punishment of his actions.
