What’s this remote incident manager? Everybody has fallen in love with?

we_are_spc,

@evilcookies98 I dunno, I haven't used it yet.-t

ratking,

@evilcookies98 really powerful remote access software that's cross platform

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking something else I should consider adding to my purchase list?

ratking,

@evilcookies98 if you need so much time, you get 30 minutes free a day

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking gotcha. Does your free time start as soon as you open the program or when you connect to someone? I wouldn’t want to waste half of it trying to figure out where everything is.

ratking,

@evilcookies98 when you connect from what i understand

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking OK, so I can sit there for two hours, looking at all the buttons and it won’t throw a tantrum

ratking,

@evilcookies98 it won't take you that long, far from it

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking i’m guessing this would be of more used to me than just keeping NVDA remote around

ratking,

@evilcookies98 very much so, as i said it's cross platform, Mac, Windows, even controlling each one from the other

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking so what you are telling me is that I could remote into somebody’s MacBook from my Dell and help them as far as the install button if they wanted to Boot Camp

ratking,

@evilcookies98 to that point, yeah. after the restart since it wouldn't be on the target it wouldn't work.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking they would be on their own there anyway. I can’t hold up their phone and make envision read everything for them.

ratking,

@evilcookies98 but if it's in the main OS it should work good.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking so which screen reader works better with it? 40 minute mode wouldn’t be much of a problem there because I’d be in 30 minute mode anyway.

ratking,

@evilcookies98 That's the beauty, it doesnt' matter.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking that’s unusual. Most of the time one piece of software works better than the other in stuff

ratking,

@evilcookies98 It's been designed so what you have works, and what the target has work, even if they dont' have a reader of their own.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking who is the genius to come up with that idea? They need a prize.

ratking,

@evilcookies98 Teh same who made System access, it's basically built off that.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking really?

ratking,

@evilcookies98 Yeah, then it was limited for SA but they expanded it.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking probably a good idea considering system access can no longer access your system because it doesn’t exist

ratking,

@evilcookies98 not true, it still does.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking I was under the impression that thing vanished years ago

ratking,

@evilcookies98 far from it, i still have it. In fact a know a few who have it.

evilcookies98,
@evilcookies98@dragonscave.space avatar

@ratking well, I’m surprised. I played with the demo version a long time ago, but that was in approximately 2015 or something.

ratking,

@evilcookies98 it has a little toruble with windows 11 but it's still pretty strong.

FluidEscence,
FluidEscence,

@evilcookies98 it basically lets you remote control one computer from another computer, with full audio passthrough. That's the short version. The longer version is that if the person you're remote controlling doesn't have a screen reader, you can launch something called remote accessibility which will give you speech without them having to hear it.
