Open question for anyone who wants to answer: what qualities/traits/skills help to make someone an excellent romantic partner in your mind?

@ADHDefy Someone who will overlook your short-comings and will also push you a bit out of your safe zone. Someone who is not a show-off or materialistic. Someone who is not jealous of your friends, and will interact with them, male or female. Someone who will enjoy doing hobbies together, but who will also allow you to do your own thing. I found her (well, she found me really).... just need to get my shit together and marry her :)

@ADHDefy the sense that you're lucky to be with each other. Not in an anxious way, but being grateful.

@ADHDefy Patience and sincerity/sweetness are big ones for me. I also find intelligence and creativity to be very appealing. I'm looking for a gal with a big heart who will understand and accept me. Being a good vegan cook sure doesn't hurt either.

@ADHDefy good at communication. My husband did discussion facilitation training in college when we met, and that's honestly been one of the main reasons we worked out so well!

@mariyadelano @ADHDefy I second this answer.

I also think flexibity, kindness, and assuming the best of what your partner says/does are critical factors in being a great partner and having a healthy relationship.

When you go through difficult times like, say, illness or being laid off, I think it’s important to be with someone who is going to help you smooth things over as much as they possibly can.
