The console is available to order now for deliver within the US here.

slushiedrinker,

Meanwhile, you can probably already buy a “retro console” with all those games plus others for other systems on Amazon for half the price. The price point is targeted at the people who order things from SkyMall.

This isn't the selling point they think it is. I mean I get people will pay lots of money for nostalgia, but joysticks back then used the Atari stick as a baseline that they were above.

PlasticExistence,

People usually sat a lot closer to their TVs back then too. Having a wired controller wasn’t a big deal (wireless options not being available aside).

Even if I wanted this, the wired controllers are a deal breaker for me.

This is neat, but do people even have those cartridges anymore? I wonder if this is them knowingly releasing a device they intend to be used for piracy.

47_alpha_tango,

Can you even pirate 2600 cartridges? There’s no mention of USB ports for access to onboard storage. Just a serial port for the controller.

ChihuahuaOfDoom,

The ROMs are out there and I’m willing to be there is a cartridge that accepts an SD card.

PlasticExistence,

There’s at least one flash cart option that takes SD cards as the storage medium.

This is really dope. I used to be super addicted to Yars Revenge.

But that price point is a bit steep imo. I guess maybe not when you consider it comes with that cartridge.
