I love how freaking classy they are about these lawsuits too. It’s really just “knock it the fuck off guys.” They are asking for a whole $1 in damages:
We are also seeking a declaratory judgment that the Shelby County Board of Education’s actions violate the First Amendment’s free speech and free exercise clauses, nominal damages of $1, and a permanent injunction against the district’s discriminatory practices.
I think most Satanists would agree that you should be very cautious however you wish to proceed. Understand the risks of being openly heretical and only take them on if you’re willing to handle them. Speaking for what you believe and for what’s right isn’t easy, but you can’t speak at all if you’re imprisoned or killed for your beliefs, for example. I’m honestly in no place to give you advice for what you should and shouldn’t do because despite the political and religious climate being relatively hostile in the US, I can still speak my mind relatively freely. I live in Oklahoma, but even here I can wear Satanic clothing and not worry about repercussions (my threat level rises as I leave the major cities, however).
I will open up to friends that will not judge and try to share my worldview so they would start to be an ally. The massage of accepting people is hard to suppress.
The founders have very problematic pasts, and most likely are still very sympathetic to extreme right wing/ fascist politics. There is no accountability for the money they are taking in. They are bringing lawsuits against people who dare say anything negative about them or their pasts. They are actually pretty ineffective at what they say they say they do.
In all, it appears to be a grift targeting left leaning people.
This isn’t some “wanna be” you tuber just mouthing off. They bring the receipts.
As a member of TST, I think it’s very important to not look away.
I know the video is couple of hours long, but you can break it up into pieces.
It’s a very informative and well put together video. For those of us who’ve known about a lot of the things Doug and Cevin have got up to both before TST began and since, it’s interesting to see non-Satanic progressive activists beginning to look deeper into how they operate. It’s also fascinating to witness the level of denial some current members operate under.
I think this is the 3rd YT-er to look at them. illuminaughti is obviously the biggest with their 1.5million subscribers but Dead Domain is much newer so whilst I think ‘wannabe’ is a bit harsh, it’s true that 80k is not 1.5million. Even so, there’s a few very interesting comments from past members and (appalled) current members learning all this for the first time in the comment section of that video.
