@adamsdesk The kicker about Clearview is that the research was fudged a little bit, in that they compared NEW Clearview signs with old, worn Highway Gothic signs and then said Clearview was more legible. In recent studies, that's not as conclusive. Most DOTs are moving away from Clearview because the benefits are negligible at best, and there's a licensing cost to use it.
I went to school for civil engineering with a focus on traffic engineering. :)
@adamsdesk Department of Transportation. Texas (TxDOT) and Pennsylvania (PennDOT) were leaders in the Clearview studies. Michigan (MDOT) has really embraced Clearview. Arizona (ADOT) did at one time, but they've moved away, as have many other states.
