This started an interesting discussion on a private discord, but also of us are #cis, so I figured it would be good to reality check with the #trans folks here.
What's the proper form of citation or reference for a now-trans artist's dead name work? Their previous name was the author, but the trans person is still alive and performing, but perhaps not that work any more. Which name would you cite?
Obviously, if one can ask the artist, go with their preference, but is there a standard practice?
