@jon is currently giving a speech (in Deutsch 🇩🇪 natürlich) on "Reisen wie Agatha Christie im Orientexpress?🕵♂️🚂"
In cooperation with Europe Direct Karlsruhe 🇪🇺 #crossborderrail
Regional trains run half-hourly from Dresden to Bad Schandau🇩🇪 (pop. 3423) but two-hourly on to Decin🇨🇿 (22 km by rail from Bad Schandau, pop. 48.000). Now, I could take the EuroCity, but that's expensive and bike spaces are sold out... but I need my bike because there are no trains at all from Rumburk🇨🇿 to Ebersbach🇩🇪, even though there are tracks, it's just 8 km, and one of the lines terminating at Rumburk is operated with German rolling stock.
Welcome to #CrossBorderRail Day 08. I’m heading to Strasbourg via Wingen s/Moder, then it’s on to Wissembourg, Lauterbourg and Karlsruhe - and an event there this evening

@jon and I splited in two for a bit. We left Saarbrücken this morning. I stopped in Strasbourg. We will meet again in Lauterburg before going to Karlsruhe. #crossborderrail
Trying to look at #EuroCity tickets for Milano C 🇮🇹 to Lausanne🇨🇭on weekend of 18-19 June and… every direct service appears sold out (seemingly between Milan & Domodossola 🇮🇹). I’ve tried FS, SBB, ÖBB, DB, Trainline and RailEurope for good measure…
Must be an FS ticketing problem surely - ever come across this, @jon ? #CrossBorderRail

@Johanonthetrain (who’s travelling with me tomorrow) and I happily book the tickets for the 09:39 TER train Saarbrücken-Strasbourg tomorrow in SNCF Connect… and AFTER booking get this - collect the ticket from a ticket machine
And so we go to Saarbrücken station (that’s near the hotel) and there’s NO SNCF TICKET MACHINE 🤦♂️
We’ll try our luck tomorrow explaining this to the train manager!
