Some initial thoughts from the Austin #MotoGP race. About an imperious performance by a mercurial rider, about the hype being real, and about the factories in trouble. Including one you weren't expecting.
Ducati confirm Fermín Aldeguer will be on one of their bikes for the next two years. That also means that one of the current crop in MotoGP will be out of a job at the end of the season...
Part 1 of my 2024 MotoGP Preview: Is Ducati unstoppable? Will Pecco Bagnaia make it three titles in a row? Is Bastianini's testing form for real? Can Jorge Martin beat Bagnaia this time? How will Marc Marquez do? All this and more
With earlier rumours that Fermín Aldeguer was on the verge of signing for Pramac Ducati, I took a look at how that migh impact the 2025 rider line up, and how the rest of MotoGP's silly season might play out. Who is out and who might be in for next season.
At the Ducati launch, I interviewed Davide Barana. He talked about how to make the Ducati even better, what motorcycle manufacturers have to learn about aerodynamics, the role of AI, and why success isn't as easy as just poaching engineers
What did we learn from the Gresini Ducati launch? Well, that Marc Marquez is playing down his chances, that Gresini have no new sponsors, and adapting to the Ducati takes a little bit of time.
Another MotoGP link dump. This time, Paolo Ciabatti on Ducati's 2025 luxury problem, Gigi Dall'Igna on concessions, Honda's livery update, and all of the launches coming your way soon.
New MotoGP content: Before the last race of 2023 at Valencia, I spoke to Cristian Gabarrini, crew chief to Pecco Bagnaia. Fascinating as always, he told be about Bagnaia's growth as a rider, the impact of sprint races, defending a title, and competing against good friends.
Earlier this week, Marc Marquez spoke to the media at an event organized by Estrella Galicia, about leaving Honda, joining Ducati, his future, and his health. Here's a summary of what he said.
Part 2 of my review of the 2023 MotoGP season. The rise of Jorge Martin adds a great deal of lustre to Pecco Bagnaia's second MotoGP title. Martin made him a better rider, and that made for a fantastic championship.
Another MotoGP link dump. Today, an insight into Yamaha's changing processes, Yamaha poaching Ducati engineers, and Ducati's celebration of their success.
Not the set I expected but the original one has a crucial gear missing... I hope to find it once I built the other one I have.
Today, as a late Christmas gift, is the 42105 Ducati Panigale V4! 646 parts. The only thing I don't like is the stand as it bends the rear wheel and don't keep the bike straigt... But I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR-1OiUa-Ho and have to found the parts. 🙂
Note: I got the set when it was released. Christmas is only a reason to post. 😛
