I've now moved a few of my personal projects that used regular ol' #npm to the superior #pnpm. It was a bit of setup, and Github Actions erred out for a while until I figured out a fix, but all in all I think I'm better off. Thank you, #EmberJS project, for shining the light.
My latest pet #project: Replace the "free" #location sharing services with simple solution where one has full control of (a) data collection (b) data storage (c) data sharing/visualisation.
If you want to give this #GoogleLatitude like alternative a go, I'd be happy for any and all comments:
@mainmatter@emberjs Yet, #emberjs does not excel in other areas: most importantly, Ember has no SSR or PE story comparable to what modern MPA/SPA frameworks like #remix or #sveltekit have to offer. That means for any ecommerce or similar use cases, Ember isn't a fit.
@mainmatter@emberjs,
Svelte on the other hand, in particular in combination with #sveltekit serves the areas that #emberjs doesn't – it's lightweight, has modern SSR/SSG capabilities, and PE. While I'm not sure we'd build dashboard-style, productivity apps with it (yet), it's perfect for ecommerce and similar use cases.
@mainmatter@emberjs So we feel that #svelte is a great addition to our toolbox and look forward to taking an active role in the Svelte ecosystem in the future – just like we've had (and will continue to have) in the #emberjs ecosystem.
