A fav part in Chapter 3 - Jhope talking about his work on Ma City.
".. But it was so interesting. It was like, I suddenly felt for the first time, 'Wow, so this is how telling my own story and putting my emotions into music feels. ...' (J-Hope)
So we've got about 2hrs left of our day of Book Club. Let's circle back for those who are perhaps just waking up now, or maybe you're just ready to add a comment/link/thought!
Starting with Chapter 1 - we'd love to hear your reflections on this Pre-Debut Chapter.
What stood out to you?
Which members' contributions were the most interesting or relatable?
Have you got some content you'd like to share from this era?
The bit I appreciate the most is the examination of their 'Self-Produced Content era.
As an internet nerd, I worked on a few very fringe web-based productions back during that time, so I really appreciate how groundbreaking Bangtan was in the Kpop industry.
And of course, like so many Baby Army, Run BTS was critical to the process of learning their names and characters.
Would love to hear which parts of chapter 3 you liked the most!
One of the things I love about the book is the quotes. As we've got a few more readers joining us, let's go back to Chapter 1 Quotes. Did you have a favourite?
I love the behind the scenes info about the beef with Bobby and how that all went down around the time of the iconic 2014 Mama performance. There are sooo many takes on it if you search around on the interwebs, so really cool to hear about it from the source in the book.
And my absolute ABSOLUTE favorite album of this era is Dark&Wild -- I kept thinking that I wish I could go back in time and tell the BTS who had just released it that it would become a CLASSIC. There's something like alchemy and amazing in that tracklist. Hip Hop Phile + Look Here + Second Grade, god I love that. Bangers.
And I honestly think happily of introducing this remix of Danger to friends who are newly ARMY. It really shows off the SOUND of this era's Bangtan. https://youtu.be/3Wz-KiqFXGc
