Another album released Friday, also from #DeutscheGrammophon, is Julius Asal's Scriabin – Scarlatti, which seems to have some good reviews, but perhaps I will have to listen to it a couple of times to see it? Asal seems like a competent pianist, yes, but not "uncommon." #piano
Last night I fell asleep listening to the Anna Besson (with Myriam Rignol and Jean Rondeau), Corelli & Quentin: Flute Sonatas. It is very good. I am not the biggest fan of wind instruments. I was when I was younger. I have no idea how age has turned me against them. Anna Besson, well, the trio, is amazing on this album. Alpha Classics must agree. They released the #HiRes as 192 kHz / 24 bit.
I know this album is compared to Bitches Brew, but I do like Miles in the Sky better. That is completely subjective and may have something to do with growing up with Bitches Brew, having heard it so many times in my life may make me appreciate Miles in the Sky more.
#MaxRichter's single, Path 17 (before the ending of daylight, Pt. 1 / Edit)
It is not new, but is it grand. I know it is meant to be listened to at the ending of daylight, but it is quite pleasant before the beginning of daylight as well.
@classicalmusic and/or @jazz you may know that https://www.prestomusic.com/ now has a streaming service. You may not know that for half the monthly price you don't get streaming, but you still get 10% off all physical media and digital downloads. Pays for itself if you are like me and buy albums rather than stream. Another good place to buy #HiRes music is the all-genre site, https://www.prostudiomasters.com/. Good alternatives to the disreputable site, #Qobuz.
