I have a theory that each of these descriptors describe the four troupe boys:
Life - Shalem, who chose to save a life.
Death - Lucian, who chose to kill.
Tears - Lock, who chose to cry for help.
Blood - Playwright, who chose to make his enemies repay his blood debt.
there are other alternative interpretations/associations (see picture 2), but these are the ones I think is most convincing, because it's based on each of their choices.
also related is Painful Happiness (picture 3), which also includes exactly 4 descriptors.
from his second module, and the fact that he was the focus of the relic, I think we can infer that:
overjoyed - Luci
crying - unsure who it is, but the only one who has been associated with the act of crying is Lock.
writing - obviously Playwright. I think that's when he got his reality bending arts (or that his arts got stronger), and wrote a lot to find out the limits of his powers. This might also be the time when he started planning revenge.
and this leaves Shalem to collapse---- why? I have no idea. (if anyone has any other ideas, do tell)
well, it's just a theory. maybe it isssss a coincidence that those two descriptions mentioning the troupe has exactly 4 descriptors and we know exactly 4 troupe boys, and that their stories correlate to some of these.

yes, Playwright represents truth.
and you know what's Luci trying to find????

in other words, one can say that Luci is looking for Playwright.
