Some Thoughts Regarding Playwright, Phantom, and Playwright's arts
Playwright seems to prefer actions over words.
we can see this in his pre-battle dialogues (see picture 1). Specifically this part:
"There's no need for words, thespian. Just perform."
this sentiment is shared by Phantom in the first ending (Picture 2):
"Reciting an apology to the Doctor would only add to my guilt.
I will repay Rhodes Island with my actions."
A coincidence? An intentional similarity they wrote to foreshadow a relation between the two? I don't know, but I think it's a hint that these two used to know each other.
Another hint lies in Phantom's lines:
"The actors are all puppets of the script."
Actors aren't puppets. In fact, ad libbing is a widely accepted part of theatre. Shalem's archive file 4 implies that ad libbing is totally fine, as long as it doesn't ruin the "performance". so why would Luci see actors are puppets?
because he knows a certain playwright whose work can literally manipulate people into doing things?
a counterargument against this is, what if this reality bending powers isn't unique to the "Playwright" alone, but other playwrights can use it too. An example of this is the Boons node lady (picture 4):
Another protagonist who wrote her own script, but it is unsure whether the script came first, or the events. (picture 5) I think she might have had similar powers to the Playwright, if not the exact same.
Regardless, it's still a mystery how Playwright's arts work. Such a powerful ability can't be common and given around willy nilly, but is it really unique to him?
