When I booked my flight to PyCon US months ago, I didn't realize that I would be flying out on Mother's Day 🥹 and now my family keeps pointing it out 😓
They know the importance of it to me personally, so they're not really giving me a hard time for missing it this year, plus they're actually joining me a few days later (kids can't miss school for too long) so we just have to celebrate it differently.
Me, meeting someone who's work I admire and been following on social media for years and have some online interactions: "I'm glad to meet you in person"
Them: "We met before"
