The former Glasgow Corporation Cleansing Department Depot on Bell Street in central Glasgow. Designed by A.W. Wheatley, and built in the 1890s, the carts were kept on the ground floor, while the stables for the horses were on the upper floors, with ramps leading up to them. Once waste collection was mechanised after WWII, this building was used to house police horses up until the 1970s. The building has now been converted into flats.

Ross Hall Stables in the Crookston area of Glasgow. Part of the Ross Hall Estate, these stables were used by James Cowan, who had grown his empire from a single horse and cart into a major transportation business, to breed his award-winning Clydesdale horses. The stables housed not only the horses, but also contained accommodation for the grooms and stable hands.
