I know locals there who were ignored by BC govt for over a decade about this environmental issue. They were ignored by feds too. They were harassed & threatened by a business man who has investments in this ecocide mess.

A letter sent from two #BritishColumbia ministers on Feb. 20 calls for urgent federal action to regulate and respond to concerns regarding the Deep Water Recovery ship breaking site in Union Bay.

We stopped in #UnionBay along the way home yesterday. Bought 4 lbs of #ManillaClams from #FannyBaySeafood store - located below gas station/store/cold beer & wine/Subway beside the Buckley Bay ferry terminal.

Current market price for their #clams is $8.50/lb.

Boiled up today. Ate the clams with #NuocCham sauce, with fresh squeezed lime/pulp & fine minced Thai chilies.
