#Portland's new Deputy City Administrator of Public Works will start July 1, in transition to the new form of government adopted by the charter reform measure. Public Works will include Water, Environmental Services, and #Transportation bureaus (which will be run by a City Administrator rather than elected commissioners of our current system.) #pdxBikes
Let’s hope that whatever administration we end up with can quickly catch on about how PBOT’s current project delivery process was designed to build and maintain streets for cars. They’re failing to deliver on #VisionZero because they insist on everything being cast in concrete after years of “outreach” that never reaches actual users on the street. Changes on the street need to happen now, match the timeline where we're suffering through #Vision60or70something becoming #Vision70or80something
