Here’s one for the photographers: Anyone else noticed this ‘target’ pattern in their aurora pictures? I had seen it once before in an aurora pic from Iceland a few years ago, and this pic is a central crop of one from last weekend - noise rejection off. Anyway, I did some reading and this is an optical interference pattern called Newton’s Rings, and it’s quite common in aurora pictures, because the light is monochromatic (single colour/wavelength).
