We are about to set up an on-call system.

What is usually applied as remuneration for engineers on-call? Is it a flat fee? or a flat fee for on-call and an hourly rate for incident handling?

@thirstybear @tdpauw also, Build Quality In ... Proper attention to the operator experience, operability, etc.

Even as much as 30% of product time and budget spent on operational features like logging, diagnostic tools, shrinking MTTR, etc.
