We had some #sporadicE in late morning/early afternoon... but that was nothing compared to over 6 hours (!) of a HUUUUUUGE Es opening to Mallorca, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria & Greece!
Even logged 2 Greek stations as late as 2129z = 0:29am in Greece! 😱
And I have 62 IQ files totalling 45.1 GB + an hour or two (idk) of unattended scan on YT.
On live listening only, I made 173 logs. Could be more but FMLIST didn't cooperate at some point.
Europe's total? 9366 logs from 229 DXers 😬🤯✈ #fmdx
Meanwhile, Make More Miles on VHF reports about #sporadicE on #2m!
Some users of the site reported QSOs with stations located as little as 1000km away 😮 Imagine where the MUF was to allow such a short skip on 144 MHz 🤯
The best takeway though is that 2m DXers are coming back to voice contacts, as they notice #FT8 isn't that effective on such decent openings (at least if you use a Yagi of at least 9 elements that is 😆)
Now I'd like to try to analyze those logs but my PC can't even handle that amount of data, markers and lines 😂
Lucas (@TransistorFR on YouTube) in Brindas 🇫🇷 logged 10 stations at 705km & less, definitely out-of-standard for FM #sporadicE 😅 incl. 87.5 Radio Easy Rock in Aviano🇮🇹, 606km.
Another French listener, F5EMT, had Egypt on 90.6 (2672km) & 89.5 (2989km).
Also remarkable IMHO is France Bleu RCFM (Corsica) making it almost to 64N, in Finland.
