Primaris Intercessors squad A.

No changes to the miniatures, but they do stand on custom-made flagstone bases.

Painted with a unique scheme to keep them Chapter agnostic (a cunning scheme to maximise who I could sell them to).

Spot them running about a table somewhere in America.

The full squad of Space Marine Intercessors. Bone, Black and Red colour scheme.

Dire Avenger #2.

Part of my personal army/collection.

He has had a Tyranid arm grafted onto his body, permanently.

Space Marine Inceptors.

I have a strong dislike for clear flight stands, so I do things like this.

This trio of Inceptors all have a handy piece of terrain to keep them at about the right height.

One is hopping a fence with the help of his jet-pack.
Another is landing on a box (and is lucky the box has crushed).
And the last is smashing his way though a wall.

Also of note is that I used 9 different metallic paints on these.

This Inceptor is hopping a fence. The fence (baring an Imperial Aquila) is bending under the weight.
The Inceptor is focused on aiming his gun and not paying any mind to the wall he is kicking through.

Broken statue.

Based around a plaster cast taken from an old Terminator 2 (cast the skin on Arnie) play set.

Now, a hard-fought location on the battlefield of the future.
Even though the statue has fallen, someone has set up a shrine with the head and built barricades.
Those barricades have not held... what has become of the occupant and what is the future of this location?

Lots of details in this piece. Too many to cover in this post.

View of the upper torso of the fallen statue, it still holds the flag for "Cadia".
View of the inside of the barricade and the shrine which now holds the head of the statue. a splash of blood near a campsite tells a dire story.
View of the base of the statue. Only the feet remain on the pedestal.

Pox Walkers.

2 squads of 'em. One lot as they came and only painted, the other squad (at the bottom) have been modified to make them unique.

Arm and weapon swaps, plus some additional putty work is what distances them from the vanilla mini's.

Had "fun" researching dead/diseased flesh in preparation for painting these.

Foetid bloat drone, tripod conversion.

I like tripods, Nurgle is all about the 3's, just swap the 3 fans for legs...
Many hours later, you have this.

I also scratch-built the missing weapon options and magnetised all 3.

As with Nurgle the painting involves a lot of pus seeping and, particularly because of the fleshmower, lots of blood splatter.

Junk pile.
Someone has been collecting scrap metal, and made a shelter from it.

Terrain piece made from household junk. 28mm (1:56) scale.

A good excuse to try out various metal painting effects.
There are only 3 real metal pieces here. Can you spot them?

Eldar Guardian #9.

Converted quite a while ago now.
Added a cloak, steampunk sniper rifle, and a Tyranid-powered auspex scanning device.
And re-posed to rest their foot on a skull.

The contrast between the camo' cloak and bright red armour still amuses me.

Chaos Dreadnought.
Heavily modified from the stock Dark Vengeance Helbrute.

Plus, I scratchbuilt a full compliment of weapons and magnetised them all.

Too many changes to list here, see if you can spot them all.

Hellblaster squad.

A couple of minor modifications; one is reloading and another is holding his weapon one-handed.

All have grass bases with scorched patches, because they wield plasmaguns.

The colour scheme is also a nod to their use of plasma; A bright yellow, like the plasma of the sun. And the light blue accents, as is typical of plasma weapons.
I also dulled the red of their guns as a bright red was too much with the rest.

Kroot warrior #1.

The first Kroot for my personal army/collection.

No modifications or exciting paint schemes as with all my "1st" of each faction.

But I am quite pleased with the "meal" they are carrying.

This Mantis Warrior was created for a friendly contest on DakkaDakka, with the aim of showing what it means to be a Mantis Warrior.

Making use of many older bits, I re-posed this mini' to be springing from hiding, using a modified boltgun, plus added lots of saboteur elements (like mines and bombs)

The Mantis warrior chapter marking was freehand and I chose to represent their alternate colour scheme on the other shoulder pad.

Mantis Warrior Space Marine; Rear view. He is pushing his way through foliage. There are a couple of mines on the ground.
Mantis Warrior Space Marine; Left side. He is mostly obscured by some large leaves but his head and shoulder pad are visible with the Mantis warrior chapter marking clearly shown.
Mantis Warrior Space Marine; Front view. He is springing out from the undergrowth, knife at the ready and gun aimed at the camera. The leg stepping over a log bears the number 13.

Primaris Lieutenants and Captain in Gravis armour.

One was modified from stock to be stepping up, the other 2 are untouched.
But all 3 stand on custom made bases.

Painted up in a unique scheme, to make them special.

Necron Deathmark.

I wanted to represent them stepping through from the hidden dimension.
For the portal I used some clear plastic, cut into a wibbly shape, so that it is visible but not (like a heat haze).

I also painted half of the mini' dark and half "in light", again, to represent stepping from the hidden dimension. The cut-off matches the position of the "portal".

This trench diorama was built as a prize for a competition on DakkaDakka.

The story behind this section is that it was damaged by some explosion and then repaired with whatever junk could be found.

There's also a lot of small details to give it a lived-in feel.

As I'm quite into Wipeout and similar games, I decided to convert a Dark Eldar jetbike into a Feisar jetbike.

And then I couldn't "just" have the default rider, so I converted a Necron... and made it female... and gave her cable dreadlocks.

Intercessors Squad B; the elements.

Painted as a squad made up of members from different chapters.
Their chapter markings have been covered with a grey square and each has been assigned an "element" from "Air", "Earth", "Fire", "Water", and a mysterious "Fifth" element.

Here you see "Water" originally from the Ultramarine chapter.

Space Marine Ancient.

Custom paint scheme with added dead Ork to the base.

The writing on the banner is latin for "bright" and "old", because he's a "vivid ancient" with that paint.

No chapter markings as I wanted him available for the eventual owner to add their own.
